I cannot believe it's been two weeks since I updated the journal. Time flies! Pavan was off work this last week, but today it's back to reality. So, thought I'd better get online and update the journal before you all think I've given up.
We spent last weekend (19th through 22nd) in Madison, visiting our friends Romney and Todd, and Sidney and Valerie. Romney and Valerie are both pregnant, so we scheduled everything around their naps, haha. Just kidding. We had a great time with everyone though. On Saturday, we met Sidney and Valerie for breakfast, and then went to a gymnastics meet being held in Madison. The Rhinelander High School team was competing in the meet, so we spend a couple of hours there watching them. After that, Pavan and Sidney took Noah and Anna to play laser tag, while Valerie and I took Kindra and Amaya to the mall. Then Valerie headed home to rest, and I headed back to the hotel with the kids to rest, while Sidney and Pavan went out to have a few drinks and catch up. Saturday night we all had dinner at Romney's house, it was nice to visit while the kids played. On Sunday we slept in, and then Sidney and Pavan took Noah Anna and Amaya to play mini golf while Valerie and I took Kindra to Kohl's to find some shoes. We all met up at the mini golf place for lunch, then headed to Barnes and Noble for a coffee and to look around. Sunday night we had dinner together at Red Lobster, with Todd and Romney and the girls, Kate and Sadie. Yummy! On Monday we had breakfast at Denny's, then took the kids to Toys R Us before we headed back to Rhinelander. It was a nice weekend.
Pavan got a taste of what it's like to stay home with the kids all week, and got a much needed break from work this week. Finally got the chance to relax some, and make some phone calls that he can't find the time to make when he's working so hard! We had a nice week. He should take more vacations where we don't go anywhere!
On Tuesday he stayed home with Amaya while I took the others to dance. On Wednesday, Kindra was able to find a friend to give her a ride to and from youth group, so we were all able to go to Wausau during Anna's gymnastics. We took Noah andAmaya to dinner at a place called Hudson's, which has a real car in the restaurant...just like Doc Hudson from Cars. On Thursday, Kindra babysat so we could watch Noah during his Mini Mites sports class. This week they were learning basketball. On Saturday, Noah and Anna both had their first swim class in the higher level. They both did great! I wouldn't be surprised if Noah gets advanced to the next level after this session. Anna's class is pretty hard, they spent the whole time learning new strokes. Back and forth in the pool...she was exhausted afterward! Saturday night Kindra and two of her friends babysat while Pavan and I went a party for the surgery department. It was nice to see everyone, but the party was pretty boring without the kids. Normally it's a family party, but this time Dr.Pantalone's wife wanted to make it an adult only party. She sent her only child to boarding school this year, and has made it very clear that she does not like children! I told Pavan we should have a party for the surgery department at our place this summer, a cook out. And once we build our new house, we can have some of the Christmas parties at our place too.
Amaya has taken her love of dresses to a new level. Now she refuses to wear anything else!! We can't even get her to take her dress off at night to take a bath! We have to force the clothes off her, while she's kicking and screaming! A quick bath, and then she won't allow us to put pajamas on her, she will only wear a "pretty dress". So, we put a dress on her. Then she insists on "pretty tights". So we put tights on her. THEN she insists on "pretty shoes". And to top it all off, she insists on "pretty hair". So I have to comb her hair and put it in pigtails. So, she's sleeping at night in a dress, tights, and shoes, with her hair in pigtails!! And if one of her shoes comes off at night, she starts screaming until we put the shoe back on!! She's something else!! Talk about a girlie girl, she truly does balance out Noah, who is all boy!
Unfortunately, Amaya is sick today. She woke up around 5 AM, throwing up! She's been running a low grade temperature all day, and has thrown up (all over me) everything I've tried to give her to eat or drink. Right now she is resting, hopefully she'll be feeling better by this evening so she can at least drinksomething. Hopefully nobody else will get sick! Amaya...the one person who rarely even leaves the house, is the one who ends up sick. Go figure! Probably from taking her to play in the ball pit at Hardees! Those ball pits are so nasty and full of germs!
Better get going. The laundry is calling my name....
More later,
Rebecca
